"Volunteers do not have the time; they just have the heart."
~ Elizabeth Andrew

"If you continue to give, you will always have."

"I enjoy volunteering because in giving to others, I am giving to myself."
~  Sophia Grant

The Voluntary Action Center serves as a clearinghouse for information on volunteering and encourages volunteerism in the community by informing the public about specific volunteer opportunities.  It provides a link between those who wish to offer their services and the non-profit or public human service organizations which need volunteer help.  Skills and interests of each individual are matched to the volunteer needs of local human service organizations.  Callers are referred directly or receive a directory of volunteer opportunities.

The Voluntary Action Center also coordinates United Way's Day of Caring activities.
